San Lorenzello hosted the celebration for the 100th birthday of Filomena, known affectionately as nonna Mena, on 6 November 2026.
Filomena was born on 6 November 1926 in Civitella Licinio, a hamlet of Cusano Mutri. The centenary linked the community where she was born with San Lorenzello, the town that became her home.
Family, friends and local representatives attended the celebration, along with Monsignor Giuseppe Mazzafaro, bishop of the Diocese of Cerreto Sannita-Telese-Sant'Agata de' Goti.
According to the account of her life shared for the occasion, her upbringing was marked by early responsibilities, work connected to wood and agricultural products, and wartime memories. She is described as having preserved strong ties to family, faith and her local roots.
Pietro Crocco, identified as a direct nephew, attended the celebration and recalled Filomena's energy and resilience.
