Avellino will host a public meeting on Monday 9 November 2026 to present the results of Centro Malika and renew the city's Patto di Comunita against discrimination linked to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The main session is scheduled for 11:00 in the Sala Consiliare of the Municipality of Avellino. According to the published programme, the event is expected to conclude at 12:30.

Centro Malika has been active since 2022 with support from UNAR, the National Office Against Racial Discrimination. It works on preventing and addressing discrimination linked to sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Municipality of Avellino leads the project. Its partners are ACLI Avellino APS, Arcigay Salerno "Marcella Di Folco", Innova ETS and Hyrpinia Cooperativa Sociale Onlus.

What is planned for 9 November

The meeting has two stated purposes: the presentation of the centre's final report and the planned renewal of the "Patto di Comunita per il contrasto alle discriminazioni fondate sull'orientamento sessuale e le identita di genere - Comune di Avellino".

The sources announcing the event do not publish the report's figures or detailed service statistics. Readers attending the presentation can therefore expect the substance of the results to be shared at the meeting itself.

The programme also includes a morning visit by UNAR director general Mattia Peradotto to the centre's premises in via Cocchia da Cesinali, scheduled from 09:00 to 10:30, before the Sala Consiliare session.

The cultural programme is expected to include a performance by LSD - Libero Spazio D'Arte and discussion of Gabo Caruso's photographic exhibition "Il coraggio di Cora".

A pact first signed in 2024

The Patto di Comunita was first signed on 2 December 2024. The updated pact remains open to further participation by institutions, third-sector organisations, trade unions and associations.

The 9 November meeting is announced as the occasion for renewing that commitment and widening the territorial network. The available sources describe the renewal as planned; they do not yet confirm the final list of signatories.

No information has been published in the acquired sources about funding, staffing or operational arrangements after the current project phase concludes.
