Italy's Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate (DIA) in Naples has seized assets worth more than three million euros from Antonio Magliulo, a 48-year-old entrepreneur from Casal di Principe described by investigators as linked to the Casalesi clan, Schiavone faction.

The preventive seizure included a recently purchased Pershing 48 yacht of about 15 metres, luxury properties, companies, vehicles, bank accounts, cash and luxury watches.

According to the report, the measure covered 11 properties located in Casal di Principe, Casapulla and San Nicola la Strada, along with three companies, three registered movable assets and 33 financial relationships.

The decree was issued by the Prevention Measures section of the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Court, following proposals from the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate and the DIA.

Investigators pointed to a discrepancy between declared income and the assets attributed to the entrepreneur as the basis for the preventive asset measure.

The article also reports that Magliulo was convicted at first instance in 2023 of mafia-type criminal association in the investigation into Rete Ferroviaria Italiana procurement contracts, receiving a sentence of eight years and ten months. That first-instance ruling does not establish the final outcome of the related judicial proceedings.
