Carabinieri from the Montesarchio Operational and Radiomobile Unit have seized more than 1.5 kilograms of hashish and marijuana and arrested two men following searches.
The men are suspected, at this stage of the proceedings, of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing. They were placed under house arrest as a pre-trial precautionary measure, pending a validation hearing before the judge for preliminary investigations, the GIP.
The operation was reported as part of prevention and enforcement activity by the Benevento Provincial Carabinieri Command along the Naples–Montesarchio axis.
The identities of the two men have not been disclosed, and the separate quantities of hashish and marijuana have not been specified. The outcome of the validation hearing was not available at the time of publication, and the allegations remain subject to judicial assessment.
