A road collision in Torre del Greco sent former municipal councillor Stefano Abilitato and a collaborator to the hospital after a Fiat 500 allegedly struck the scooter they were riding.
The incident occurred on viale del Commercio, near the entrance curve to the Raiola district, according to a report by Metropolis Web. Both riders were thrown onto the road in the impact. They were wearing helmets.
Abilitato required ten stitches around his lips and mouth and sustained abrasions and bruises. His collaborator was also injured. Both were taken to Maresca Hospital, where they remained for approximately six hours for examinations and treatment.
Initial checks by officers at the scene reportedly found that the Fiat 500 lacked insurance coverage and that its driver did not hold a driving licence. Those findings remain preliminary.
The municipal police are investigating the incident. The precise sequence of events and any legal responsibility have not yet been established.
