Scafati plans to fill six Istruttore di Vigilanza posts in its municipal police command, but the recruitment method has become a point of political dispute.
According to Metropolis Web, the municipality's PIAO 2026–2028 provided for the hires to be made by scrolling existing rankings. That approach was then overtaken by Giunta resolution no. 295 of 24 September 2026, which made voluntary mobility the priority procedure and left recruitment from rankings as a secondary option.
Councillor Francesco Carotenuto has submitted an interpellation asking the administration to explain the change. He wants to know the organizational reasons and office assessments behind the decision to prioritize mobility over existing rankings.
Carotenuto also asked whether the administration has had contacts with other municipalities, whether any expressions of interest for mobility have already emerged, and whether the six hires were submitted to COSFEL.
No written response from the administration and no final hiring outcome were reported. The full text of the Giunta resolution and the underlying assessments were also not available, leaving open what documentation was sent to COSFEL and which recruitment method it described.
