Trecase is preparing to inaugurate Piazzale Isabella Langella, a new welcome area and interchange hub built on the former parking lot in Via Casa Cirillo. The opening ceremony is announced for Wednesday, 30 September 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
The project was carried out with PNRR funds and is presented as a reception and interchange space combining parking, sustainable mobility, and public green space.
What the new square includes
According to local reports, the site provides 70 car parking spaces, four stalls for electric-vehicle charging, three spaces reserved for people with disabilities, and ten spaces for electric bicycles.
The area also includes a children's play area, green areas, and a dog area. The design is described as serving reception, parking, and sustainable mobility, with parking, low-emission vehicle charging, electric bicycles, a play area, and a dog zone.
Civil, military, and religious authorities are expected at the ceremony, including Mayor Raffaele De Luca and representatives of provincial institutions.
A second gateway toward Vesuvius
Local coverage presents the square as a second gateway to Trecase and a connection point toward Via Panoramica, the Sentiero delle Ginestre, and the Vesuvius National Park.
For visitors, that makes the practical layout worth noting: car and electric-vehicle parking is concentrated in one place, with reserved accessible spaces and electric-bicycle spaces alongside recreation areas. Travelers planning to continue toward the panoramic road, the Ginestre trail, and the national park will find the welcome area positioned as a starting and transfer point.
Why it is named for Isabella Langella
The square is named for Isabella Langella, who lived in Trecase from 1791 to 1813. Her remains are kept in the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie and San Gennaro.
The dedication links the new public space to local memory: rather than a purely functional parking and mobility site, the piazzale carries the name of a figure associated with Trecase and its sanctuary.
