Italy's Guardia di Finanza has seized more than 1.3 million stationery and household products from shops in Nola, Ottaviano and Pollena Trocchia after checks found safety and labelling violations.
The operation targeted retail businesses across the three municipalities. Officers removed the goods from sale under administrative seizure, with a total commercial value estimated at more than 130,000 euros.
According to the reported findings, the products did not meet applicable safety standards and lacked mandatory consumer information on packaging or labels. The required details — needed to identify the products and ensure traceability — must be visible, legible and provided in Italian.
The business operators involved have been reported to the relevant Chamber of Commerce. They face administrative fines ranging from 516 to 25,833 euros.
No breakdown of the seized goods by municipality has been disclosed, nor has the number of shops inspected or operators sanctioned been specified.
