A local politician from Terzigno has received a four-match suspension following violent incidents during a futsal derby in Campania.

Biagio Ferraro, a majority councillor in Terzigno and team official for Progetto Futsal Terzigno, was suspended for four matches by the Territorial Sports Judge of the Campania Regional Committee.

The incidents took place during the match against Virtus San Giuseppe on 24 October 2026.

According to the referee's report cited by Metropolis Web, tensions flared after Virtus San Giuseppe player Giovanni Casillo was sent off for striking an opponent in the face. Several people then entered the pitch.

The report states that Ferraro reached Casillo and pushed him forcefully, without knocking him down or causing physical injury.

The disciplinary measures also hit the home club hard. Progetto Futsal Terzigno was fined 400 euros and ordered to play its next four home matches behind closed doors, with a field commissioner present at the club's expense.

The return fixture between the two sides was also ordered to be played without spectators.

Emilio Casillo received a four-match suspension as well.
