Two cars collided at about 1:30 a.m. on 15 October 2026 at the intersection of Via Circumvallazione and Corso Avezzana in Torre del Greco, according to local press reporting.

The impact was severe. One of the vehicles overturned onto its side, while the other sustained serious damage to its front end, with its windshield destroyed.

Two 118 ambulances assisted the drivers. Both drivers were taken urgently to hospital. Local reporting described the condition of one of the injured as particularly critical, but no identities, hospitals, or later medical updates have been verified.

The Carabinieri attended to carry out surveys and reconstruct how the crash happened. The intersection remained closed to traffic for several hours to allow the surveys and to make the roadway safe.

What is not yet known

The definitive sequence of events and any responsibility have still to be established by the Carabinieri. A first hypothesis reported locally points to a possible failure to yield combined with high speed, but that explanation has not been confirmed.
