Monteforte Irpino will host the "Pet Open Day" at Parco Loffredo on Saturday 3 October, from 11:00 to 13:00. The initiative is dedicated to the welfare of domestic animals, with activities centered on health, safety, prevention and responsible pet care.
The initiative is promoted by the municipal administration through the councillor for animal protection, Francesca De Santis.
Prevention, health and responsible care
The programme addresses prevention, responsible care, animal health and safety, and respect for companion animals.
Information will be available on ENPA, veterinary first aid and understanding dog and cat behaviour. The focus is practical: giving owners and residents direct access to guidance on how to care for dogs and cats responsibly and how to protect their health and safety.
Adoption area: dogs and cats looking for families
One of the central elements of the morning is the "Angolo delle adozioni", the adoption area.
It will present vaccinated and microchipped animals seeking families from the "La casa di Billy" shelter in Luogosano. For readers considering adoption, this means the animals presented at the event are already identified through microchipping and covered by basic veterinary prevention, two essential requirements for responsible rehoming.
The adoption area also gives residents a direct point of contact with the shelter system: people interested in welcoming an animal can learn about the animals currently housed at "La casa di Billy" and the process for offering them a family.
Free veterinary and behavioural consultations
Free veterinary check-ups and behavioural consultations are planned for the first ten registered people.
This is a limited opportunity. Because places for the free checks are capped at ten, early registration is essential for anyone who wants to take part in this part of the programme.
Registration is required via WhatsApp by 12:00 on Friday 2 October.
