A 70-year-old woman was found dead inside her home in Torraca, in the province of Salerno. According to initial reports, she may have died after a sudden illness.
The alarm was raised by relatives after they had been unable to contact her since the previous evening. Firefighters from Policastro intervened to open the door of the house, with Carabinieri and emergency medical personnel from 118 also attending.
The woman was a pensioner from Naples who had recently moved to Torraca, where she usually spent her holidays. Her name and exact address were not reported.
