A man from Sala Consilina has been reported for failure to provide assistance in connection with a road crash on Sunday evening on State Road 19 in or near Atena Lucana. Two cars were involved in the collision, while a third car was present at the scene without being hit. Its driver allegedly did not stop to help the injured people.

The Carabinieri of the Sala Consilina Company and the Radiomobile unit investigated the incident. Camera images helped identify the third vehicle and its driver.

Four people injured

According to the available reports, four people were injured: a young woman from Atena Lucana and three members of a family.

The young woman was travelling in one of the two cars involved and suffered the most serious consequences. She was transferred to a hospital in Salerno. The other car, described in the reports as a Porsche or other large-engine car, overturned several times.

What investigators have confirmed

The investigation reconstructed that the third car was present at the moment of impact but was not involved in the collision. Its driver allegedly left without stopping to provide assistance.

Investigators used camera footage, among other inquiries, to trace the third car and identify the driver. The Sala Consilina man was then reported for failure to provide assistance.

What remains unclear

The full dynamics of the collision were still under investigation at the time of the reports. The sources did not publish the identity of the reported driver or further judicial developments.

The reports also differ slightly in their description of the second car: one calls it a Porsche, another describes it more generally as a large-engine car.
