A bakery robbery in Cardito ended with the arrest of a 41-year-old man from Caivano after he allegedly tore out the cash register and attempted to flee with it.
According to Il Mattino, the suspect, identified only by the initials B.M. and already known to law enforcement, allegedly threatened the people inside the bakery before removing the cash register. He then tried to escape while carrying it.
Two off-duty officers from the Afragola police station, dressed in civilian clothes, intervened and detained him. The cash register was recovered and returned to the bakery owner.
The suspect was taken to Poggioreale prison pending a validation hearing. The allegations remain subject to judicial review, and no conviction has been established.
