Carabinieri in Caivano seized more than five kilograms of heroin after a suspicious suitcase was found open and unattended inside a bus.
The intervention took place at a transport-company depot in the Cinquevie area of Caivano, where carabinieri from the local company were called to examine the luggage.
Inside the suitcase, investigators found 469 ovules containing heroin, concealed among women's clothing. The seized drugs weighed 5 kilograms and 293 grams.
The carabinieri investigation was ongoing at the time of publication. No details were reported about the owner of the luggage, and no information was available on arrests or charges.
What remains unclear is the origin and intended destination of the suitcase, as well as the circumstances in which it was left inside the bus.
