On 28 September 2026, the president of Vesuvius National Park, Raffaele De Luca, met the park's new Servizio Civile volunteers at the park headquarters in the Palazzo Mediceo in Ottaviano.
The meeting was a first discussion about the volunteers' service path within the park authority. De Luca was joined by Pasquale Giugliano and Giovanni Romano.
According to the park, the volunteers' work will be connected to the authority's activities and to the values of biodiversity protection, nature conservation, and responsibility toward the environmental heritage.
The park presents the Servizio Civile as an opportunity for personal and professional growth, and as a way for young people to take part in protecting and promoting the natural heritage of Vesuvius.
