The municipality of Sassinoro has prohibited transit in the Ciampitelli area and ordered the containment of water used to fight the fire that broke out on 19 September 2026 at the New Vision Srl facility in the PIP industrial area, in the Ciampitelli-Pianelle locality.
The measures were issued by Mayor Luca Apollonio, according to NTR24 reporting on the municipal action.
Vehicle and pedestrian circulation in Ciampitelli was prohibited until safety operations are completed. Emergency services, police forces, technical personnel and other authorized operators are exempt from the ban.
The municipality also ordered New Vision Srl to immediately provide systems for containing and temporarily storing firefighting water. The stated reason is that runoff from firefighting operations can mobilize pollutants and create risks for soil, water and health if discharged onto the ground or allowed to flow away uncontrolled.
If existing on-site tanks are inadequate, the company must have the liquid waste managed by an authorized transporter and sent for disposal at an authorized facility.
The order was transmitted to the Prefecture of Benevento, ARPAC, the local health authority ASL, the Province of Benevento, the Fire Brigade, the Carabinieri, the Forest Carabinieri and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The cause of the fire, the extent of material damage and the current status of safety and environmental checks were not established in the reporting available at publication.
