The Lions Club Benevento Arco Traiano and the Lions Club Benevento Host have carried out a joint weekend of community service, combining solidarity with recognition of local excellence.
The first initiative was "Zaino Sospeso," a collection of school supplies held at the Conad Store in the Centro Commerciale Buonvento. Shoppers donated backpacks, notebooks, pens, colouring materials, pencil cases and other school supplies. The collected materials were delivered to the Banco Alimentare section of Benevento for distribution to families facing financial difficulty.
Alongside the solidarity drive, the two clubs presented awards to prominent figures from the territory. The Lions Club Benevento Host recognised doctor Carlo Iannace for his professional, social and humanitarian commitment to the local community. The Lions Club Benevento Arco Traiano awarded professor Carlo Mazzone for his contributions to cultural, educational and digital development, youth training, and building links between schools, universities, innovation and civil society.
The collaboration continues a pattern of joint work between the two Benevento clubs. They recently presented awards together to students of the Convitto Giannone in the "Acqua e tutela dell'ambiente" competition dedicated to environmental education.
The initiatives also open a new chapter for the Arco Traiano club, now led by president Feliciano Cefalo, who succeeds Mariateresa Spina after her 2024–2026 term, with a renewed commitment to service to the community under the Lions' "We Serve" motto.
