Benevento will face a planned water-service interruption from 15:00 on Monday 21 September 2026 until 06:00 on Tuesday 22 September 2026, subject to unforeseen delays. The interruption is linked to extraordinary maintenance on the regional DN500 Curti–Benevento water pipeline, work being carried out by the Campania Region.

Cancelleria and Piano Cappelle are expected to remain supplied under ordinary consumption because of the compensating capacity of the Cancelleria reservoir.

Where drinking water tankers will be available

GESESA has arranged four fixed drinking-water tanker points, operating from 14:00 on 21 September to 08:00 on 22 September:

  • Piazza Risorgimento market area
  • Via Benito Rossi
  • The parking area near the San Giuseppe Moscati church in Capodimonte
  • Via A. Gramsci in Pacevecchia

Two additional tankers may serve sensitive users by request.

What to expect when supply returns

Temporary turbidity may occur when supply resumes because of sediment movement in the pipes. Restoration times may vary by location and operating pressure after the regional pipeline is reopened.

Residents in affected and low-pressure areas should therefore allow for the possibility that water may return at different times in different locations, and that the announced 06:00 end time remains conditional on the work proceeding without unforeseen issues.
