Montesarchio, in the province of Benevento, has launched a joint review of road safety, intersection visibility, and signage maintenance across its municipal territory.
The inspection was carried out by the Local Police together with delegated councillor Umberto Schipani to assess the condition of local roads and identify the most critical intersections.
The survey covered several town intersections, including locations already subject to restyling and improved signage. Particular attention was given to junctions where municipal roads meet provincial arteries, where responsibilities are shared between different road owners.
The Municipality plans to intervene directly on stretches under its own jurisdiction and to formally ask the Province of Benevento to act on provincial roads. According to the stated priorities, the work will focus on the visibility of road signs, the clear delimitation of intersections, and the protection of drivers and pedestrians.
Resources available, including funds derived from Highway Code fines, will be directed first to the interventions judged most urgent. The inspection is intended to help schedule the next works and coordinate the authorities responsible for the roads involved.
