The Municipality of Bonea has allocated €70,000 to complete the building adjacent to the nursery currently under construction.
The property, formerly used as accommodation for the caretaker, will be renovated so it can be used for school activities and other community services.
According to NTR24, the planned works include electrical and other systems, plastering, painting, toilets, the access staircase, and the remaining measures needed to make the building fully usable.
The funding was approved through an executive resolution and comes from resources granted by the Ministry of the Interior under Budget Law provisions. NTR24 links the funding to an amendment promoted and supported by Senator Domenico Matera.
The mayor said the allocation will help complete a wider school complex comprising the primary school, preschool, nursery, and gymnasium, expected to return to the community following seismic adaptation and energy-efficiency works.
