Authorities have seized a wooden staircase about 60 metres long that had allegedly been built without authorization to provide easier access to the sea at Vallone Fontanelle, in Santa Maria di Castellabate.
The seizure followed checks by the local Coast Guard maritime office, coordinated by the Agropoli Port Authority and conducted together with the local Carabinieri Forestali. Two people were reported to judicial authorities in connection with the case.
According to the report, the area is subject to hydraulic and state-owned coastal restrictions. Further checks were underway to reconstruct the authorization process and to identify any additional violations.
The report does not name the two people reported, specify the precise charges, or say who commissioned, built, or owned the structure. No outcome on possible removal or restoration of the site has been reported.
