Benevento hosted a meeting of Italian and Lithuanian women entrepreneurs on 25 September 2026, held alongside the 10th Jubilee Congress of the Lithuanian Community in Italy.

The meeting brought together the Women in Business network, BPW Lithuania, BPW Italy–FIDAPA and Rete #IDONNA of Confindustria Benevento. According to NTR24, it was promoted by the Lithuanian Embassy in Italy and the Women in Business network, with participation from Lithuanian and Italian women entrepreneurs.

Rete #IDONNA participated alongside BPW–FIDAPA Benevento and BPW Vilnius. The network was presented as a Confindustria Benevento initiative created in 2024 to strengthen women's participation in business through mentoring, networking and training.

Participants discussed possible cooperation in business matching, supply chains, international mentoring, women's entrepreneurship, Erasmus exchanges and European funding.

The reports describe these as proposed areas for cooperation. They do not establish that formal agreements or funded projects were concluded at the meeting.

The event framed Benevento as a potential bridge between the Sannio business ecosystem and Lithuanian networks in Vilnius and Kaunas.

The wider congress: 25–27 September in Benevento

Benevento hosted the 10th Jubilee Congress of the Lithuanian Community in Italy from 25 to 27 September 2026. The congress was organised by Rūta Kavaliūnaitė and held across venues including the University of Sannio, Teatro De La Salle and Hotel Antum, with a closing visit to Naples.

The Lithuanian Community in Italy operates through 13 territorial branches, according to the community's report.

The programme combined academic, commercial, cultural and institutional events. Topics included cooperation between universities and businesses, diaspora history, literature, education, active citizenship, information resilience and Lithuania–Italy relations. The programme also included the documentary "Prezidentas".

Representatives of the University of Vilnius and Kaunas University of Technology were expected to discuss academic cooperation and existing Erasmus links with the University of Sannio.

Why it matters for readers in Benevento and Sannio

For local businesses, the practical interest lies in the contacts named in the reports: women's business associations in Benevento and Vilnius, the Women in Business network, and university links between Sannio, Vilnius and Kaunas. The cooperation avenues mentioned — supplier contacts, business matching, shared mentoring, student mobility and European funding — are the areas to watch for any follow-up.

For visitors and residents, the congress underlined Benevento's recent role as a meeting place for institutions, universities, businesses and cultural organisations connected to the Lithuanian diaspora in Italy.
