The Regional Administrative Court of Campania, Seventh Section, has rejected the electoral appeal filed by Carmine Valentino against the outcome of the municipal elections in Sant'Agata de' Goti. Giovannina Piccoli therefore remains mayor.
The decision was adopted in the council chamber on September 29, 2026. According to the report, the operative part of the ruling rejects the challenge to the electoral operations and to the proclamation of those elected, while deferring the detailed reasoning to a subsequent judgment.
What was challenged
The appeal contested the attribution of votes to the lists "Oggi e Domani" and "Radici e Futuro" and concerned operations carried out across the town's 11 polling stations.
The court did not order any correction to the electoral result, nor did it order a repetition of the electoral operations. The intervention in support of the appeal filed by Luciano Iannotta was declared inadmissible.
The election result stands
At the election, the list "Oggi e Domani," backing Piccoli, received 3,527 votes, compared with 3,201 votes for "Radici e Futuro." That margin underpinned Piccoli's election, and it now stands confirmed following the court's rejection of the challenge.
The court also ordered Valentino to pay a total of 6,000 euros in legal costs, plus statutory accessory charges.
