The inner-area strategy for the Fortore has entered its decisive phase. The Assembly of Mayors of the Comunità Montana del Fortore has unanimously approved the final version of the area strategy "F.A.R.O. – Fortore Attivo per il Ripopolamento e l'Occupazione" and its accompanying program of interventions.
The vote took place in San Marco dei Cavoti, with 13 of the 14 mayors of the mountain community present, according to NTR24 TV.
The approval is a preparatory step for the signing of the Accordo di Programma Quadro among the national government, the Campania Region, and the mountain authority. That agreement is expected to move the strategy from planning to its operational phase.
The strategy aims to counter depopulation, support employment, and strengthen development prospects across the Fortore territory.
Next, the Comunità Montana plans local meetings in Apice and San Bartolomeo in Galdo to update local stakeholders on the strategy's progress.
According to the Comunità Montana, the Fortore is the first and so far only Inner Areas Strategy area in Campania to have received approval from the national steering committee and a favorable conclusion of the regional funding review.
What has not yet been disclosed is the detailed list of interventions, their budgets and timetable, or a date for signing the framework agreement.
