Evening service on the Circumvesuviana line between Poggiomarino and Sarno will be suspended on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 October 2026, from 20:15 until the end of service, for programmed maintenance work.

The operator EAV announced the two-evening interruption to allow installation of switch no. 1 and road resurfacing at the Martusciello level crossing near Striano station.

Which trains are affected

According to EAV reporting, two specific evening services are directly affected:

  • Train 6191, departing Napoli Porta Nolana at 19:25, will terminate at Poggiomarino on both evenings. The Poggiomarino–Sarno section will not be served by this train.
  • Train 62924, scheduled to depart Sarno at 20:24, will be suppressed on the Sarno–Poggiomarino section.

EAV will provide replacement buses between Sarno and Poggiomarino on both evenings.

The sources do not detail the exact changes to every train running during the 20:15 to end-of-service window, nor do they provide the complete timetable, stops, or frequency of the replacement buses.

What passengers should do

Passengers travelling on these two affected evening services should plan to use the replacement buses between Sarno and Poggiomarino and allow extra travel time.

If you are on train 6191 from Naples, expect to end the rail part of your journey at Poggiomarino and continue by bus if you are headed toward Striano or Sarno. If you were planning to take the 20:24 departure from Sarno toward Poggiomarino, use the replacement bus for that section instead.

Because bus stop locations and departure times have not been published in the acquired sources, check EAV information displays at the station and EAV’s service updates before travelling.

New Vesuvian timetable starts 17 October

The works come just after the start of EAV’s new Vesuvian Lines timetable on 17 October 2026.

According to EAV, the new timetable provides 280 daily services, with trains every 30 minutes to and from Sarno. Travellers using the line during the day should therefore consult the new timetable in force from 17 October, rather than relying on older schedules.

The reporting also mentions departures from Poggiomarino at 05:54 toward Napoli and 06:29 toward Sarno. These morning times were reported alongside the evening disruption notice; they are not presented here as a full description of daytime service.

No information is available in the sources on whether the infrastructure works will continue beyond the two announced evenings.
