An overnight raid vandalized the new municipal cooking centre at the Pulcarelli school complex in Massa Lubrense, damaging the facility just days before the start of the school-meal service.
According to a report by Metropolis Web, the break-in occurred on 3 October 2026. Intruders broke windows, forced fixtures and stole professional kitchen equipment, including cast-iron pot-support grilles. Blood traces were found on surfaces, suggesting that one of those involved may have been injured during the raid.
The municipality carried out emergency cleaning, sanitisation, pest-control treatments and hygiene checks to make the centre safe. The school-meal service, entrusted to GLM Ristorazione, began regularly on 7 October.
Mayor Lello Staiano condemned the attack and said law-enforcement and judicial authorities would identify those responsible.
The identities of the perpetrators and the motive for the raid have not been reported, and no independently verified estimate of the damage has been published.
