Trail No. 4, "Attraverso la Riserva Tirone," in Vesuvius National Park has reopened to visitors, with access limited to Saturdays and Sundays.
The reopening was reported by Metropolis Web and confirmed by two official pages of the Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio: the reopening notice and the trail information page.
Where the trail runs
The currently accessible stretch runs from the Ercolano-side entrance gate to Casa di Amelia. According to the park's reopening notice, the route is approximately 2.6 km long and runs over mostly flat terrain.
The park describes the arrangement as a partial reopening in effect until further notice.
When you can visit
Access is permitted two days per week: Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors should check hours before departure. The reopening notice gives visiting hours of 9:00 to 16:30, while the park's trail information page lists 9:00 to 16:00 with last entry at 15:00.
Entry, registration and guides
Entry is free.
The park's trail page says no reservation is currently required and that official park guides will be present. According to the reopening notice, visitors are registered at the entrance.
Because access is weekend-only and the current route is a defined 2.6 km section, visitors planning around transport and timing should use the Ercolano-side entrance as the reference access point stated by the park.
Rules for bicycles and dogs
Bicycles are permitted, subject to pedestrian priority and safety rules. The park notice sets a maximum speed of 20 km/h and notes restrictions on certain sections.
Dogs are not permitted, including on a leash, because the route lies within an integral reserve area.
Visitors cycling the trail should therefore expect to share the path with pedestrians and to follow the posted section restrictions and speed limit.
