Carabinieri from Caserta inspected a restaurant in Mondragone on 17 September 2026, with support from the Labour Inspectorate and the NAS food-safety unit.
The restaurant's legal representative, a 43-year-old woman, was reported following the irregularities found during the inspection.
According to the report, one employee was working without a regular contract, resulting in a penalty of approximately €4,000 for undeclared work.
Inspectors also found that two workers had not undergone required preventive medical examinations and that mandatory workplace-risk training had not been provided. Those labour and safety violations generated fines exceeding €3,000.
The NAS unit issued a further €2,000 penalty for failure to implement internal food-safety self-monitoring procedures. Authorities also administratively seized 50 kilograms of non-compliant meat.
In total, the reported sanctions exceeded €9,000. Further joint checks were expected to continue in the area.
The report does not identify the restaurant by name, specify the exact types of meat seized, or provide information about subsequent proceedings or any response from the restaurant's representative.
