A new installation by Carmine Luino brings six hand-cut paper works to the walls of MacelleGria, the braceria at Via Formisano 10 in Fuorigrotta, Naples.

Titled "NApoliforme," the installation is the fifth appointment in the "Parete d'artista" series conceived by Donatella Bova. The project turns the walls of the venue into a rotating exhibition space for local artists.

Six papercuts of Neapolitan imagery

Luino presents six works made with the papercut technique, using hand-cut paper, color, layers and paper textures to reinterpret symbols and imagery associated with Naples.

The subjects named in the exhibition reports include San Gennaro, the cappuzzelle, the asso di bastoni, "sciò sciò" and the siren Partenope. Together, the reports describe the works as connecting Neapolitan mythology, superstition, sacred imagery and food culture with a contemporary visual language.

A rotating wall in Fuorigrotta

The "Parete d'artista" format places contemporary art inside a working braceria. MacelleGria's walls function as the display space, with artists presented in rotation.

The Fuorigrotta address is Via Formisano 10, Naples, reported as near Linea 6.
