More than one hundred students from eight classes in Torre Annunziata made eight short films about their city, presented at the Cinema Teatro Nexus at the end of the first phase of the Campania Host to Host project.
The films were made during the 2025/2026 school year by students of the IIS Guglielmo Marconi and the Liceo Artistico Statale Giorgio de Chirico. The screening took place in the Sala Nike of the Cinema Teatro Nexus.
A class, a subject, a local association
Each class chose one aspect of the local area to document and worked with a local association on its video. Associations named in the local coverage include Savoia, Legambiente, A.I.A., Archeoclub, Pro Loco Oplonti Marina del Sole, Eirene and Fondazione Don Bosco.
Students took part in the different stages of audiovisual production, from writing to filming and editing, sharing responsibilities and decisions within each group.
What Campania Host to Host is
Campania Host to Host is described as a digital and transgenerational education project promoted by FITA Campania with FITA Napoli, FITA Salerno and Naif Teatro / Naif association, in collaboration with the participating schools.
According to the school circular issued by IIS Marconi, activities started on 25 March 2026 and focused on conscious use of digital tools, social media and digital ethics, with experts and tutors from FITA Campania, FITA Salerno and Naif Teatro.
The wider programme presented at the launch also included theatre workshops, tourism marketing, laboratory work and meetings with local associations, with the stated aim of building a network between students and organisations in the area.
What was shown at the Nexus
The eight works screened at the Nexus were the result of that first phase. They are student-made short videos about Torre Annunziata, each produced by one class in collaboration with an association.
The specific titles and subjects of the individual films were not listed in the reporting available for this article, and no verified official page with the full list or online viewing of the eight videos was identified.
The address of the Cinema Teatro Nexus and any schedule for further public screenings were also not included in the documents reviewed.
What comes next
The project is expected to continue with a further group of more than one hundred students in the following year.
