A luxury yacht valued at approximately €2.6 million has been seized in the port of Torre Annunziata in an investigation into alleged customs evasion exceeding €572,000.
The seizure was carried out on 22 October 2026 under an urgent preventive-seizure order issued by the Torre Annunziata Public Prosecutor's Office, according to local press reporting.
Joint operation in the port
The operation involved the Guardia di Finanza Naval Station of Naples and officials from the Customs and Monopolies Agency.
The vessel concerned was flying the flag of the Cayman Islands and measured approximately 78 feet, or 24 metres, in length.
The allegations
Investigators allege that the yacht remained in EU waters and ports beyond the permitted temporary-admission period, resulting in alleged unpaid customs taxes quantified at €572,000.
Investigators are also examining an alleged false declaration stating that the yacht arrived from Hammamet, Tunisia, on 15 May 2023.
According to the report, investigators reconstructed the yacht's presence in the Gulf of Naples from June 2022 to October 2026, apart from a period ashore at a Torre Annunziata marina yard.
The yacht's owner, operating company and crew have not been identified in the available reporting, and the vessel's name and final legal status have not been disclosed.
The allegations remain part of preliminary investigations and have not been established by a final court judgment.
