Municipal workers in Lettere are protesting changes to the Comune di Lettere's personnel plans, according to a report published by Metropolisweb on 23 October 2026.

The unions Cisl Fp and Uil Fpl have proclaimed a state of agitation and referred the dispute to the Prefecture of Naples and the Commission for Financial Stability of Local Authorities.

According to the report, the unions allege that the municipality's new PIAO cancelled previously agreed staffing measures. Those measures included three internal vertical progressions and an increase in part-time hours from 30 to 34 per week.

Metropolisweb reports that the new PIAO reduced the planned internal vertical progressions from three to one, limited to the information-technology area. The reported increase from 30 to 34 hours per week was halted, including for administrative-office and local-police staff.

The Prefecture has convened the municipality, Cisl and Uil for a video-conference conciliation meeting scheduled for 28 October.

The municipality's response to the allegations was not included in the Metropolisweb report. The outcome of the scheduled meeting is not yet known, and the underlying PIAO documents were not independently available in the material acquired for this article.
