Gragnano has officially opened the construction site for the Parco della Bellezza in Via Vittorio Veneto, with a first-stone ceremony marking the start of a 5-million-euro project fully funded by Italy's Ministry of the Interior.
The first element planned is a sports hall for local athletes and associations. The project also includes a future theater-auditorium intended to replace the current geodesic dome, alongside a bistrot, recreational spaces for families, and an underground parking facility.
The groundbreaking ceremony combined the construction launch with a celebration of local talent. Students who graduated with top marks were recognized, along with young standouts in the visual arts and dance.
Among those honored was Gragnano-born actor Domenico Cuomo, known for playing Cardiotrap in the series Mare Fuori, who received an award from the municipal administration. The event also featured science communicator Vincenzo Schettini of "La Fisica che Ci Piace."
No completion date, contractor details, or technical specifications for the capacity and size of the sports hall and theater-auditorium have been announced yet.
