Avellino is moving toward a permanent civic memorial for the former Isochimica workers. On 18 September 2026, Franco D'Argenio, Carlo Sessa and Anna Candelmo of the association "Lotta per la Vita" met Mayor Nello Pizza to propose naming the road adjacent to the former Isochimica plant in memory of the workers who died.

According to IrpiniaNews, the proposal is intended as a lasting remembrance of workers who died following occupational asbestos exposure and inadequate workplace protections at the plant.

Mayor Pizza expressed his availability for the initiative and said the proposal would be submitted to the City Council for formal approval. A formal ceremony is expected once the approval process is completed.

An earlier IrpiniaNews report had identified the road connecting Via Don Giovanni Festa with Via Tedesco as the planned memorial road. The current report does not confirm the definitive road name, nor does it confirm whether that same route is the one now under discussion.

The Council vote, any required further authorizations, and the date of a possible naming ceremony have not yet been confirmed.
