Forty-six schools in 29 municipalities in the province of Avellino will receive funding for classroom cooling under Ministerial Decree 179 of 2 September 2026, according to IrpiniaNews.
The measure supports microclimatic comfort in school classrooms. The total allocation reported for the 46 Irpinian institutions is €145,064.22, or €3,153.57 per institution.
The funding is intended for rapidly deployable cooling devices in schools that do not already have air-conditioning systems.
IrpiniaNews also reports a separate school-building notice funded through the 8×1000 programme, totaling €114,498,620, with €103,426,620 immediately available for 2026–2029.
The reported safety-related interventions include seismic upgrading, asbestos remediation, and prevention of slab and ceiling collapses.
Under the reported terms, local authorities may apply for one school building, with funding of up to €1 million, through the stated online portal between 5 October and 23 October 2026.
