Avellino State Police arrested a 36-year-old man and reported a minor after officers were physically attacked during a check at a residence in the Vallo di Lauro.

According to reports published on 1 October 2026 by IrpiniaNews and Corriere dell'Irpinia, officers from the Lauro precinct went to a residence reportedly used by the 36-year-old to carry out a check. The man allegedly resisted the officers and then, together with the minor, attacked them.

Both the adult and the minor, described as residents of the Vallo di Lauro, face allegations of resistance, violence and injuries to public officials.

The 36-year-old was taken into custody, while the minor was reported to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office at the Naples Juvenile Court. Neither the adult nor the minor has been publicly identified.

A fast-track hearing subsequently validated the arrest. The court imposed a precautionary measure requiring the 36-year-old to sign regularly with judicial police.

IrpiniaNews described the arrested man as having prior police records relating to drug offences.

The reports do not specify the officers' injuries, the exact address of the residence, or the precise time of the intervention. The specific procedural steps concerning the minor have also not been disclosed.

The accusations remain provisional. Guilt must be established by a final judgment, and the presumption of innocence applies.
