Irpiniambiente has announced the suspension of urban-waste collection and delivery services from 23:00 on Thursday, 22 October 2026, until further notice.
The suspension covers scheduled collections in the municipalities served by the company, as well as deliveries to the STIR facility at Pianodardine, the Flumeri transfer station and the RAEE collection centres.
According to the report, the company cited road-traffic blockages linked to truck-driver protests, resulting operational constraints, saturation at waste-transfer sites and fuel unavailability.
There is one exception: organic-waste collection scheduled for 23 October 2026 will still go ahead, but only in municipalities where it is included in the current service calendars.
Irpiniambiente asked the municipalities concerned to inform residents and to discourage improper waste disposal during the stoppage. The company said the resumption of ordinary collection will be formally communicated to those municipalities.
No date has been given for the return to normal service, and no complete list of affected municipalities was provided in the available report.
