Avellino's councillor for mobility and public transport, Ettore Iacovacci, travelled to Naples to take part in a roundtable on urban mobility bringing together local administrators, institutions and sector operators.
The meeting, titled "Mobilità urbana: opportunità e strumenti per i Comuni," was held in the Sala "Caduti di Nassiriya" of the Regional Council of Campania. Iacovacci described his participation in a statement quoted by IrpiniaNews: "Questa mattina a Napoli, nella Sala 'Caduti di Nassiriya' del Consiglio Regionale della Campania, ho partecipato alla tavola rotonda 'Mobilità urbana: opportunità e strumenti per i Comuni'."
According to the report, Uber was among the companies involved in the discussion, which focused on innovation and new opportunities for municipalities.
During the event, Iacovacci outlined measures taken in Avellino, including restoring the bus stop serving the cemetery and increasing the number of public transport stops, particularly in outlying districts.
He also said the City of Avellino has opened talks with SITA on managing bus parking at Campetto Santa Rita, with the stated aim of reducing inconvenience for residents and helping to ease congestion in the city centre.
