Over the weekend before 5 October 2026, the Carabinieri Companies of Ariano Irpino and Mirabella Eclano intensified day and night checks across the middle Valle del Calore, the Valle dell'Ufita and the Ariano area.
The operation resulted in several people reported without arrest, referrals to the Prefecture of Avellino for personal drug possession, the withdrawal of four driving and vehicle documents, and the start of proceedings for a mandatory removal order, or "foglio di via obbligatorio".
