Carabinieri from the Montoro station, supported by canine units from Sarno, arrested a 23-year-old local man on suspicion of possessing drugs with the intent to deal.
According to two local reports, the arrest followed a personal and home search. Investigators found a vacuum-sealed bag containing 930 grams of cocaine hidden inside a shoe box.
What officers seized
The search produced more than the single vacuum-sealed package. Officers also recovered:
- more than 36 grams of additional cocaine
- approximately 96 grams of hashish
- vacuum-sealing bags and plastic film
- a case for an electronic scale
- four mobile phones
- 1,160 euros in cash
Both IrpiniaNews and Ottopagine report the same quantities and the same concealment method: the main 930-gram package of cocaine sealed under vacuum and placed in a shoe box.
Suspect already under house arrest
The reports state that the 23-year-old was already under house arrest for previous property-related offences at the time of the search.
After the arrest in flagrante delicto, the man was taken to Bellizzi prison in Avellino, according to both reports.
Reading the numbers carefully
The headline figure of "one kilo" is a rounded description. The verified reports give 930 grams for the main cocaine package, plus more than 36 grams of additional cocaine and about 96 grams of hashish. The reports do not give a single combined total weight.
The reports do not publish the suspect's name, and no subsequent judicial decision, confirmation of charges, or trial outcome was included in the material reviewed.
