The SAI CISAL union has issued a formal warning to the Prevention Department of ASL Avellino and the Municipality of Avellino over the reported health and hygiene conditions of the heavy prefabricated housing on Via Leonardo Di Capua.
According to IrpiniaNews, the notice was sent on 21 September. It cites reports from residents of rodents, cockroaches, insects and reptiles, with infestations allegedly entering homes.
SAI CISAL has requested an immediate health-and-hygiene inspection of the buildings and surrounding areas, followed by urgent deratization, disinfestation and remediation measures.
The union gave the two authorities three days from receipt of the notice to provide a concrete response and begin the requested interventions. If no response is received, SAI CISAL said it will refer the matter to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Avellino.
