Authorities have suspended the activity of a residential facility for non-self-sufficient people in Baiano, in the province of Avellino, after an inspection found organizational, structural and staffing deficiencies.
The inspection was carried out by the Baiano Carabinieri station together with NAS personnel from Salerno and the Avellino Territorial Labour Inspectorate, according to a report published by IrpiniaNews on 24 September 2026.
Inspectors reported missing rest facilities for staff, obstructed rooms, broken or malfunctioning structural devices, excess beds in some rooms and shortages in professional staff. They also found failures in staff training and instruction, as well as one worker who was not regularly employed.
