Two men posing as Carabinieri robbed a home in Orria in broad daylight, leaving residents shaken.
According to Il Mattino Salerno, the suspects knocked on the door at around 13:30 and introduced themselves as Carabinieri officers carrying out an urgent check. They claimed the inspection was connected to two vehicles and a supposed theft in Battipaglia.
Once inside, the men reportedly asked the residents to show their identification documents, keeping up the appearance of an official inspection. While in the house, they allegedly took watches and several gold items worth several thousand euros.
The whole episode lasted only a few minutes. The suspects then fled, and although residents attempted to pursue them, they managed to escape.
Authorities were conducting inquiries into the incident. Surveillance footage from the area and witness accounts were identified as potentially useful in tracing the alleged perpetrators.
