A 70-year-old man was rescued by firefighters in the Cilento area after severe weather caused a watercourse to overflow and swept away his car.
The incident occurred in the locality of Magazzeni, in the municipality of Montecorice. The man was left isolated on the opposite bank of the watercourse after the torrential flow carried away his yellow Fiat Seicento.
Firefighters from Agropoli carried out the rescue, with support from the SAF unit from Salerno. The 118 emergency service, the Red Cross medical car from Agropoli, and the Carabinieri station of Santa Maria di Castellabate were also involved in the operation.
The man was checked by medical personnel at the scene and was reported to be in good condition, with no further medical intervention required.
