A tree fell in Piazza Amendola, in central Battipaglia, during bad weather and struck three people, including a child being pushed in a stroller and a young woman.
The child and the young woman received initial treatment from 118 emergency personnel and were taken to the emergency department of Battipaglia hospital. The injuries reported were not serious.
Municipal police and firefighters from the Eboli station secured the area around the fallen tree.
According to the report, rain and wind were the probable causes of the fall. Further checks were planned to establish the precise circumstances and any responsibility, which had not yet been determined.
A separate tree also fell on Via Noschese in the Santa Lucia area. No vehicles were passing at the time, and the road was closed while safety operations were carried out.
