A fire broke out in a farmhouse on Via Provinciale Amendola in Sarno, forcing the evacuation of two families as the flames threatened nearby homes.
According to Il Mattino, the flames spread rapidly, fuelled by wooden crates, plastic material and other accumulated debris inside the property. Wind helped the fire spread, increasing the risk to neighbouring houses.
Firefighters from the Sarno station intervened at the scene, containing the fire, securing the area and extinguishing the flames. Police officers also carried out checks at the site.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire had not been established, and investigators were examining what started the blaze.
