A 15-year-old boy, Antonio Milito of Pagliarone, died in a road crash in Pontecagnano Faiano at the intersection of Corso Italia and Via Stadio.

According to Il Mattino, the boy was riding a scooter when a car entered the main road without giving way. To avoid the car, he moved into the opposite lane and collided with a scheduled bus.

Emergency responders from the Red Cross and the 118 service attempted to resuscitate him, but without success.

Municipal police used surveillance camera footage to identify the motorist, who had driven away without stopping. The footage confirmed the car's involvement in the sequence of events, while the report states there was no direct collision between the car and the scooter.

The driver reportedly said he had not noticed what happened.

The driver could face charges for failure to provide assistance and for road traffic violations. The final legal qualification and any responsibility have not yet been established, and the reported reconstruction reflects the municipal police investigation rather than a final judicial decision.
