A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after a violent crash between a scooter and a car in Qualiano, in the Naples metropolitan area.
The collision happened shortly after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Via Di Vittorio and Via Fratelli Rosselli, according to Il Mattino Napoli.
The vehicles involved were a scooter ridden by the 16-year-old, an Alfa Mito driven by a 22-year-old, and a parked Smart that was also struck.
The impact threw the teenager from the scooter. He was taken by emergency services to San Giuliano Hospital in Giugliano, where he was admitted to intensive care with a reserved prognosis.
The exact sequence of events and any responsibility for the crash have not yet been established. The case is being examined by the Qualiano Municipal Police, and the driver of the Alfa Mito underwent the legally required alcohol testing.
