A dispute between condominium neighbors in Naples' Quartieri Spagnoli escalated into serious violence on via D'Engenio, ending with a 64-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, according to Il Mattino.
According to the report, the confrontation began with mutual allegations of damage, assault, and threats between the two neighbors. The 45-year-old man allegedly forced open the 64-year-old's door with kicks and punches and threatened him.
The 64-year-old resident then allegedly pursued the neighbor down the stairs and struck him repeatedly with an iron bar. The injured man was taken to Pellegrini hospital with head trauma, a fractured nose, broken ribs, and hand injuries, with a reported prognosis of 30 days.
Police arrested the 64-year-old, who was placed under house arrest at a relative's home. The account describes allegations and a criminal accusation, not a final judicial determination of guilt.
